What if I start journaling and painful memories come to mind?

It is good practice to start prayer and meditation first, then journal. If painful memories surface, talk to a counselor or someone at your church. If neither exists, then a close, confidential friend will suffice. Another plan is to join a support group first, then start journaling. This gives you what you need to support making it through all of those feelings. Seek God first, then support through humans. Professional support may be the best choice in the beginning.

How do I stop dieting?

You stop dieting by developing a healthy eating and exercise regimine. There are many eating plans designed specifically for you. Remember, every plan does not work for everybody. In the book, Diets Don't Work, there are plans to jumpstart the healthy living routine. They designed to start the routine of being disciplined in eating regulary, and making healthy choices. Stop looking for a quick fix and adopt a long term solution. Buy the book, Diets Don't Work and follow the program.

What if I don't believe in Jesus?

Your choice of a higher power is all that matters. The book was written based on my higher power, God through Jesus Christ. You can believe whatever you like. Replace my reference to God and Jesus with your own. It is all in how you use it. As I stated in the book, it really does not matter, as long as you put your belief first, you will be successful.

How do I get in a support group?

You can find many weight loss or healthy eating support groups on the internet. Starting your own is a good idea too. Get the book, Diets Don't Work and have your friends purchase a copy. You can use the book as the guide for your support group. Contact us and we can help you find one too.

What is a healthy exercise program for me?

That answer vaires based on your physical condition. The safest methods to use in the beginning is walking or water aerobics. Consult with a personal trainer or go online to get your metobolic rate, buy a scale and tape measure to keep track of your success. We also have plans listed in the book, Diets Don't Work.

What if I don't want to give up some foods.

You don't have to give up anything. Just eat in moderation. For example, I love chocolate. However, I don't eat it everyday; but I do eat some at least 1x per week. I use my fun foods as a reward for keeping on track with my healthy eating and exercising. What matters is that you are not endangering your health on the inside and outside by eating certain foods. If problems exist due to eating these foods, then STOP! Otherwise, eat them in moderation. For example, if you walk five times per week and that is your goal, then reward yourself with a treat of your choosing for that weeek. Bon Apetite!

I don't pray regularly. How do I start?

You can practice by reading the prayers in the back of the book, Diets Don't Work. One friend told me that they would put their shoes under the bed so that in the morning, they had to get on their knees to pull them out. While they were down there, praying was in order. Find your own way and place. It is mainly what works for you, but do it. Prayer works. I promise!

How do you meditate?

There is a section in the book, Diets Don't Work about meditation. There are also many books and websites on the topic as well. Start out by closing your eyes and picturing your entire body. Or you can stare at a piece of fruit. These are methods to use as a way of quieting your mind. Contact us for more information on meditation or read it in the book, Diets Don't Work.
